How to Dim Lights Wirelessly with the RBC412 Controller

Learn how the RBC412 wireless receiving controller provides wireless dimming and supports up to ten paired switches for simple multi-way control.

What this guide covers

The RBC412 wireless receiving controller makes it possible to switch and dim a compatible lighting load wirelessly. Up to ten switches can be paired with one controller, making multi-way switching and dimming far less fiddly.

Before you start

  • Confirm that the lamps or driver are dimmable and suitable for the RBC412.
  • Make sure the controller has been installed and commissioned in accordance with its data sheet.
  • Pair the wireless switch before fixing it permanently in place.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Pair the wireless switch with the RBC412 using the normal pairing procedure.
  2. Use the switch sequence demonstrated in the video to begin dimming the connected lights.
  3. Adjust the light to the required level and release the switch as shown.
  4. Repeat the test from every paired switch to confirm consistent multi-way control.

Useful tips

  • The RBC412 can accept up to ten paired switches.
  • Pair and test each switch while the controller is still easy to reach.
  • If the lights switch correctly but do not dim smoothly, check the lamp or driver compatibility before changing the wireless setup.

Troubleshooting

If the lights do not respond as shown, check the supply, controller wiring, paired-switch operation and compatibility of the connected lighting load. Refer to the RBC412 data sheet before altering the installation, or contact REVBC technical support.
